The University College of Applied Sciences in Gaza is one of the technical academic institutions in Palestine. It operates under the Ministry of Education and Higher Education since its establishment in 1998, with the aim of providing technical and vocational education services to the Palestinian community under the name of the Community College of vocational and Applied Sciences. In 2007, it transformed into a university college offering bachelor's and diploma degrees in over 60 specialties across various fields. The University College of Applied Sciences endeavors to strengthen its relationships at the international and regional levels by building bridges of academic and cultural cooperation between the college and various educational and academic institutions, as well as Arab and international organizations, in order to achieve its vision of reaching global standards.

The University College of Applied Sciences in Gaza sustained severe damages due to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. The destruction affected the college’s buildings and facilities, as missiles and shells caused significant damage to several buildings, numerous laboratories, the main student playground, and various administrative offices. Several artillery shells hit the fifth floor of the administration building, burning multiple administrative offices. The newly established Multimedia and Animation Laboratory, which was supported by the World Bank and the European Union and is considered the first of its kind in the Gaza Strip, was engulfed in flames from tank shells. The destruction also affected multiple classrooms and the women’s building, where two floors were almost completely destroyed.
