Al-Kamaliyya School, established during the Ayyubid Dynasty in 1237, is located in Al-Zaytoun neighborhood near Omar Al-Mukhtar Street in Gaza. The school was initially founded as a hub for students, merchants, the poor, and travelers between the Levant and Egypt. In 1930, during the tenure of Mayor Fahmi Bey Al-Husseini, it was converted into a girls' school. The school has witnessed significant historical events since its establishment, including battles between the Crusaders and the Egyptian army, as well as the battles between Muslims and the Tatars . During the genocide committed by the Israeli occupation against Gaza Strip in 2023-2024, the school building was destroyed due to Israeli airstrikes o Al-Zaytoun neighborhood.
