Details of the massacre
On October 31, 2023, at 3:30 AM, Israeli occupation warplanes bombed a densely populated residential block in Jabalia refugee camp, adjacent to the Indonesian Hospital. The attack resulted in 400 civilian casualties, between martyrs and wounded, with the vast majority being women and children. The Israeli occupation used six bombs, each weighing 1,000 kg, causing massive destruction, including a giant crater in the area.
According to The Guardian, the Israeli military used multiple JDAM (Joint Direct Attack Munition) bombs, leaving five deep craters in Jabalia camp and completely destroying eight buildings. Based on image analysis, the British newspaper suggests that the Israeli forces likely deployed GBU-31 (Mark 84 warhead) general-purpose bombs or possibly GBU-56 (BLU-109 warhead) bunker busters, both weighing approximately 2,000 lbs (900 kg).
A Wall Street Journal investigation revealed that the Israeli bombing, intended to assassinate Ibrahim Biari, resulted in the martyrdom of between 126 and 136 Palestinians, including 69 children, making it one of the deadliest airstrikes on Gaza. The Israeli army was aware of the potential for mass casualties but chose not to issue any warnings to the residents of the targeted area. Experts indicate that Israeli aircraft dropped at least two 2,000-lb bombs, the second-largest type in its conventional arsenal.
