Al-Israa University
Al-Israa University is a Palestinian university established in 2014, with its main campus located in Al-Zahra City and other campuses in Al-Rimal and Al-Tufah neighborhoods in Gaza City.
During the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip in 2023–2024, the university reported that the Israeli troops used its main building in Al-Zahra as a detention and sniper center for Palestinians, and as a military base for their vehicles for approximately 70 days. Then on January 18, 2024, they proceeded to blow up the building housing the undergraduate and graduate colleges.
The university’s hospital building, medical, nursing, and engineering laboratories, cafeteria buildings, media training facilities, the courtroom designated for the College of Law, graduation halls, and the university mosque were also destroyed. The national museum, which housed approximately 3,000 artifacts, was also looted and vandalized.
The intermediate studies center in Al-Tufah neighborhood and the continuing education center in Al-Rimal neighborhood were also bombed and looted.
Al-Quds Hospital “Palestinian Red Crescent Society”
Al-Quds Hospital, affiliated with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, is a medical facility located in the Tel Al-Hawa area of Gaza City.
On October 12, 2023: The Tel Al-Hawa area, including the street behind Al-Quds Hospital, was bombed, resulting in the martyrdom of 78 Palestinians.
On October 16, 2023: The vicinity of Al-Quds Hospital was subjected to multiple strikes by the Israeli army, as shown in visual materials published on social media. These attacks followed evacuation threats by the army, leading to the destruction of several buildings in the streets surrounding the hospital.
On October 18, 2023: The occupation forces issued a direct threat to the hospital. Less than 100 meters from the hospital building, intense airstrikes by Israeli warplanes shattered the hospital’s glass and caused the false ceiling to collapse on the displaced individuals inside.
On October 20, 2023: The Palestinian Red Crescent Society received a threat from the occupation authorities to bomb Al-Quds Hospital and ordered its immediate evacuation. At the time, the hospital housed over 400 patients, approximately 12,000 displaced individuals, and medical staff.
On October 24, 2023: Al-Quds Hospital continued providing services to the wounded, injured, and displaced despite persistent Israeli threats to evacuate the hospital and the intense aerial bombardment of its surrounding area.
On October 30, 2023: The Israeli forces renewed their direct threat to evacuate the hospital and the headquarters of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in the Tel Al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza. They demanded the evacuation of more than 14,000 displaced individuals. Despite this, the hospital continued to serve the wounded and displaced. The surrounding area, including the Red Crescent warehouses, was subjected to heavy aerial bombardment and attacks.
On November 2, 2023: Israeli occupation forces stationed to the south of Al-Quds Hospital randomly fired live ammunition at the hospital, penetrating the walls of the sixth floor and damaging central air conditioning units. Additionally, two displaced individuals (a young man and a child) were injured in the chest and abdomen due to the gunfire. On this day, the Israeli occupation forces continued their explicit threats to evacuate and bomb Al-Quds Hospital and the Palestinian Red Crescent headquarters, putting more than 14,000 displaced individuals at risk. Several residential towers adjacent to the hospital were targeted from the eastern side, causing significant damage to the hospital building and operations. Despite the ongoing heavy bombardment, the hospital remained operational.
On November 3, 2023: Israeli warplanes carried out several intense airstrikes on the headquarters of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society and Al-Quds Hospital in the early morning hours. The bombings shattered hospital glass, injuring displaced persons inside. Emergency teams treated 21 injuries within the hospital, and displaced individuals suffered from panic attacks. The hospital continued its operations despite the heavy bombardment.
On November 4, 2023: Israeli warplanes continued targeting the Al-Quds Hospital and Red Crescent areas, escalating the immense challenges faced by working teams and threatening the lives of displaced persons. The hospital’s main entrances were bombed by Israeli airstrikes. Despite the heavy bombardment, the hospital continued its work.
On November 5, 2023: Israeli forces continued bombing the area surrounding the hospital, targeting a residential building northwest of it. Five ambulances and Palestinian Red Crescent vehicles sustained severe damage and ceased operation due to the bombardment. The attack destroyed the intensive care unit on the third and fourth floors of the hospital. Nine displaced individuals inside the hospital were injured by shrapnel. Despite continuous threats of bombing, the hospital remained operational.
On November 7, 2023: Bombing around the hospital continued from distances of no more than 50 meters for over a week, resulting in at least 60 injuries among hospital staff, patients, and displaced persons. The hospital building, ambulances, and relief vehicles sustained significant damage. Israeli forces carried out intensive bombardments from all directions, closing most access roads to the hospital, which created obstacles for medical teams. A convoy from the International Committee of the Red Cross attempting to deliver medical supplies to Al-Quds Hospital was fired upon, damaging two vehicles and injuring a driver.
On November 8, 2023: The occupation forces targeted a Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance.
On November 9, 2023: The hospital administration decided to reduce most hospital services to ration fuel consumption. Emergency room operations were halted for the third consecutive day due to communication service outages and VHF signal interference.
On November 10, 2023: The area surrounding the hospital was bombed by Israeli warplanes, destroying the intensive care unit. The occupation forces tightened the siege on the hospital and directly targeted displaced persons with snipers and armored vehicles.
On November 11, 2023: Electricity was cut off from Al-Quds Hospital due to generator failures caused by bombardment. Israeli forces intensified their siege by advancing toward the hospital’s entrance and directly attacking it with live ammunition, targeting the intensive care unit and displaced persons inside, resulting in multiple injuries. The occupation forces besieged the hospital’s clinics and shot anyone moving outside. A displaced individual at the hospital entrance was fatally shot. Israeli warplanes intensified bombing around the Red Crescent headquarters and Al-Quds Hospital. Marwan Jilani, Director General of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, stated that Israeli forces had killed one person and wounded 30 others with direct gunfire. Infant patients suffered from dehydration due to a lack of milk. The hospital continued reducing its services due to fuel shortages.
On November 12, 2023: The Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced that Al-Quds Hospital was completely out of service due to fuel depletion and power outages. Displaced individuals were evacuated following a week-long siege by Israeli forces. The forced evacuation followed a predetermined route south, dictated by the occupation forces. Despite critical shortages of medical supplies, food, and water, hospital staff did their utmost to provide care using traditional medical techniques. Communications were cut off for five days, and international appeals for urgent assistance went unanswered.
On November 13, 2023: The occupation forces intensified the siege on Al-Quds Hospital by advancing toward its entrance and continuing live fire attacks. A joint convoy from the Palestinian Red Crescent and the International Committee of the Red Cross, en route to evacuate the wounded from Al-Quds Hospital, was stopped and forced to turn back, leaving patients, families, and medical personnel trapped inside. Despite securing clearance, the occupation forces denied the convoy access, citing a “security incident.” Thousands of displaced individuals were forced to leave the hospital on foot, heading south.
On November 14, 2023: The hospital remained under siege, with approximately 300 people trapped under Israeli bombardment. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society evacuated around 200 people from Al-Quds Hospital to Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. The forced displacement journey took seven hours, partially on foot.

The first grave contained 63 martyrs, while the second mass grave holds over 35 martyrs, with the number expected to rise.
Al-Jundi Al-Majhoul Park – Gaza
Israeli occupation forces destroyed and leveled Al-Jundi Al-Majhoul Park and memorial in Al-Rimal neighborhood, central Gaza Strip. These are considered major landmarks and the beating heart of the city. The memorial was established in 1956. The destruction of the park and memorial aims to obliterate truth and dignity, and to erase the human and national symbols representing the identity of the Palestinian people.
On 7/12/2023, Israeli occupation forces arrested around 16 Palestinian civilians from a UNRWA school in Beit Lahia. The forces forcibly displaced women and children to southern Gaza.
A detainee was arrested by Israeli occupation forces from Al-Shuja’iya neighborhood in Gaza and held for 50 days in the occupation’s prisons. He recounted his journey of being transferred from the Sofa prison to Ofer prison and the various forms of torture he endured, including being attacked by dogs, subjected to electric shocks, and beaten.

On the evening of Wednesday, 15 November 2023, while people were combining the Maghrib and Isha prayers at Ihyaa Al-Sunnah Mosque in the Al-Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City, Israeli air forces unexpectedly struck the mosque with an airstrike without prior warning. This attack led to the martyrdom of more than fifty individuals, the injury of many others, and numerous people trapped under the rubble. This incident came to be known as the “Ihyaa Al-Sunnah Mosque Massacre.” The mosque was completely destroyed.
Al-Zafar Damri Mosque – Gaza
Al-Zafar Damri Mosque is a historic Islamic landmark located in the Al-Shuja’iya neighborhood of Gaza City. It dates back to the Mamluk era, having been constructed in the year 762 AH (1361 CE), and covers an area of 600 square meters.
The mosque is also known as “Al-Qazdamri Mosque” and contains the tomb of its founder, Shihab Al-Din Al-Zafar Damri. It is distinguished by its horseshoe-shaped arched entrance and features a sandstone inscription indicating its date of establishment.
During the Israeli aggression in 2014, the mosque sustained indirect damage due to the bombing of a modern extension adjacent to it. This resulted in cracks in the ancient walls and vaulted ceilings, partial collapse of historical walls, and a hole in the ceiling caused by shrapnel. The mosque was subsequently restored in 2015.
On October 7, 2023, Israeli occupation aircraft targeted the mosque, causing severe destruction. In November 2023, during the Israeli ground invasion of the Al-Shuja’iya neighborhood, the mosque was completely destroyed.
Al-Samra Bathhouse – Gaza
Al-Samra Bathhouse is one of the most significant Ottoman architectural landmarks in Palestine, located in Al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza. It is considered a prime example of Ottoman bathhouses in the region. The design features a gradual transition from the hot room to the warm room and then to the cold room, with a dome above the cold room that has circular stained glass windows allowing sunlight to illuminate the space naturally, adding elegance and beauty to the venue. The floor is beautifully paved with marble tiles and various colored geometric patterns. The bathhouse was recently restored, enhancing its beauty and splendor. On 30 December 2023, Israeli occupation aircraft and tanks bombed and completely demolished it.

Ibn Marwan Mosque – Gaza
The mosque was established in 1371 AD and is one of the famous mosques in Gaza. Ibn Marwan Mosque is located in the Shujaiya neighborhood, on the northeastern edge of Gaza City along Salah al-Din Street. The mosque spans an area of 320 square meters, with Salah al-Din Street bordering it on the eastern side, and a cemetery containing the grave of Sheikh Ali Ibn Marwan on the southern and western sides. This cemetery also bears his name. The mosque dates back to the Mamluk period and is named after Sheikh Ali Ibn Marwan, the owner of the tomb located under the dome attached to the mosque. He passed away in 1315 AD and is believed to be one of the distinguished people from Morocco who settled in Gaza.
The mosque features a wide minaret and a roof covered by nine circular domes, supported by six marble columns adorned with prominent Islamic engravings. The inner courtyard, located on the eastern side of the pulpit, is characterized by intricate decorations and arches. The mosque was first rebuilt and restored in 1325 AD, approximately ten years after the death of Imam Ali Ibn Marwan.
On 10 December 2023, Ibn Marwan Mosque was destroyed during the incursion of Israeli occupation forces into the Shujaiya neighborhood, while the adjacent cemetery was subjected to bulldozing.

An unprecedented revelation of intent for genocide and ethnic cleansing. The brother of the slain Israeli soldier, Shoval Ben Natan, during his funeral:
“I entered Gaza to kill as many women and children as possible, everything my eyes could see, and to expel them from the land.”
Senior Israeli officials, including the Prime Minister, the President, and the Minister of Defense, have publicly used dehumanizing and sweeping language to describe Palestinians, signaling their intent to destroy and displace the population of Gaza. They have imposed a relentless siege, deliberately depriving them of the basic living conditions necessary for human survival. Even more alarming, Netanyahu cited the biblical story of “Amalek” to justify the killings in Gaza.
“We will not allow the declaration of a Palestinian state,” said Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir during his incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque. Ben Gvir’s statements come after Norway, Ireland, and Spain officially recognized the State of Palestine, sparking angry Israeli reactions.
They enjoy food and encourage genocide” – opinions of Israelis blocking aid entry to the Gaza Strip
