Targeting of Water Wells in the Gaza Strip by the Israeli Occupation Army during the “Al-Aqsa Flood” War
Report Details :
Water in Gaza holds critical importance, as the region faces a severe water crisis affecting public health, food security, and the economy. The residents of Gaza rely on limited water sources, most of which are unsafe for drinking, imposing significant challenges in accessing clean and safe water.
The water problem in the Gaza Strip is complex and multifaceted, intertwined with the political situation and the ongoing Israeli occupation for 57 years, in addition to the Israeli blockade for more than 17 years, the Palestinian political division, the rapid population growth, and the scarcity of resources. These factors have led to a severe deterioration in the water sector and delays in the implementation of numerous projects, foremost among them the establishment of the Central Sea Water Desalination Plant in Gaza.
