Governmental Facilities
According to international humanitarian law, particularly the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols, civilian government facilities and premises are considered part of civilian objects that must be protected from targeting during armed conflicts. The law prohibits the targeting of facilities that do not contribute directly to military operations, including government institutions and administrative offices that provide essential services to the civilian population. Any attack on these facilities constitutes a violation of international law if it results in the paralysis of essential services for citizens or disrupts the functioning of government bodies, leading to additional suffering for the civilian population.
