Families

This section documents the massacres targeting Palestinian families, where homes were destroyed on top of their inhabitants, killing all or most of the family members. These crimes represent a clear violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits targeting civilians and emphasizes the protection of families from violence and mass killings. They also constitute a blatant violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which guarantees the right to life and personal safety for every individual. The 1977 Additional Protocol I reinforces the protection of families from indiscriminate attacks, and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court criminalizes any acts of genocide or targeting of families as part of crimes against humanity.

Karaja family massacre

Israeli occupation aircraft committed a massacre by targeting a three-story house belonging to Karaja family in Nuseirat camp, central Gaza Strip. As a result of this attack, 14 martyrs were killed, and dozens were injured.

Al-Ra’ee family massacre

On June 18, 2024, Israeli occupation aircraft committed a massacre against Al-Ra’ee family by targeting their house in the Nuseirat camp, central Gaza Strip. As a result of this attack, 10 martyrs were killed, most of whom were women and children.

Abu Taha family massacre

On April 29, 2024, Israeli occupation aircraft committed a massacre against Abu Taha family by targeting the family’s house in Rafah city, southern Gaza Strip. As a result of this Israeli attack, 10 martyrs were killed, most of whom were women and children.

Abu Awaad family massacre

On June 25, 2024, Israeli occupation aircraft committed a massacre against Abu Awaad family by targeting the family’s house in Beit Lahia camp in northern Gaza Strip. As a result of this Israeli attack, 15 martyrs were killed, most of whom were women and children.

Saqallah family massacre

On October 19, 2023, Israeli occupation aircraft committed a massacre against Saqallah family by targeting the family’s house in Gaza City. As a result of this Israeli attack, dozens of martyrs and injured individuals were recovered from under the rubble of the house.

Braes family massacre

On January 7, 2024, Israeli occupation aircraft committed a massacre against Braes family in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip, when they targeted the family’s house. As a result of this Israeli attack, more than 27 martyrs were killed, including 15 children.

Abu Namous family massacre

On January 11, 2024, Israeli occupation aircraft committed a massacre against Abu Namous family in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip. As a result of this attack, 4 martyrs and dozens of injured individuals were recovered.

Al-Shaer family massacre

On February 22, 2024, Israeli occupation aircraft committed a massacre against Al-Shaer family in Khirbat Al-Adas area, east of Rafah. As a result of this attack, 4 martyrs and dozens of injured individuals were recovered.

Abdel Ghafour family massacre

On March 11, 2024, the Israeli occupation aircraft committed a massacre against Abdel Ghafour family in Al-Qarara, Khan Yunis. They fired artillery shells at the displaced persons’ tents in the area, as a result of this attack, dozens of martyrs and injured individuals were recovered.

Al-Ai family massacre

On March 21, 2024, Israeli occupation aircraft committed a massacre against Al-Ai family in Al-Mashahara Street, Gaza City. They targeted a residential building belonging to Al-Ai family, as a result of this attack, dozens of martyrs and injured individuals were recovered, most of whom were women and children.
