Palestinian detainees in the occupation’s prisons are subjected to brutal forms of physical and psychological torture aimed at breaking their will and stripping away their humanity. The methods of torture vary, including severe beatings, deprivation of sleep, prolonged solitary confinement, and violent interrogations accompanied by threats and humiliation. These violations not only constitute a blatant breach of international humanitarian law but also form part of a systematic oppression mechanism used by the occupation to intimidate the Palestinian people and undermine their resistance. Documenting these crimes is essential for achieving justice, accountability, and fairness for detainees who live in inhumane conditions, deprived of their basic rights.
Ramadan Shamallakh, 21 years old, was detained by Israeli occupation forces from his home. He was used as a human shield and subjected to torture and mutilation.
Israeli occupation forces arrested Khaled Rajab (45 years old) on 29/06/2024. The detainee describes the poor treatment by the occupation forces, including beatings and verbal abuse, despite his suffering from heart and diabetes conditions. The occupation forces continued to torture him.
Hob Al-Din Maqat recounts: “Israeli occupation forces detained me for nearly three months.” He added: “All my bones were broken, we were blindfolded for 70 days, and my entire body was subjected to electric shocks. We were tortured with dogs. The detainees are living a nightmare.”

Israeli occupation forces detained elderly woman Fahmiya Al-Khaldi (80 years old) as she was fleeing from Gaza City to the south. The occupation forces arrested her while she was passing through the safe passage. In Dimona prison, her hands were shackled and she was tortured to obtain her treatment, with no consideration given to her advanced age and frailty.
