Children

According to international humanitarian law, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 and the 1977 Additional Protocol I, special protection is granted to children affected by armed conflicts. These agreements stipulate that injured or sick children must be treated with special care, and all necessary medical care must be provided to them without discrimination. Targeting children or neglecting their treatment constitutes a serious violation of these agreements and is considered a war crime punishable under international law.
